Story by Jack Murphy and Vincent Marini
Frank is developing a new musical with Jack Murphy (The Civil War, Linda Eder solo
material), titled Waiting For The Moon: An American Love Story. Previously called
Scott & Zelda: The Other Side Of Paradise, and now under the working title of Zelda,
the show explores the tragic but romantic lives of F. Scott and Zelda Fitzgerald. The show had its world
premiere at the Lenape Regional Performing Arts Center in Marlton, New Jersey. The production began previews
on 17 July, officially opened 20 July and ran through 31 July 2005.

The cast of the premiere production was led by Jarrod Emick (Tony winner for Damn
Yankees, also seen on Broadway in The Boy From Oz and The Rocky Horror Show)
as Scott, and Lauren Kennedy (South Pacific in London, Side Show and Sunset
Boulevard on Broadway) as Zelda. They were joined by Ben Dibble (as Ben Simon, the
reporter), Leslie Alexander, Nova Bergeron, Rachel Bress, Alison Cimmet, Terri Dixon, Scott
Greer, Richard J. Hinds, Keith Kuhl, Mike McGowan, Jesse Nager, Jessica Lea Patty, Adam Pelty,
Kristin Piro, Eric Stretch, Matt Wall and Brandi Wooten.
The production team consisted of Vincent Marini (director), Ron Melrose (music director),
Andy Blankenbuehler (choreographer), Kim Scharnberg (orchestrator), Rob Odorisio (scenic
designer), Howell Binkley (lighting designer), Janine McCabe (costume designer), Nick Kourtides
(sound design), Michael Clark (projections) and Dave Clemmons Casting. The show was produced by
Roy Miller and Vincent Marini, with Angelo del Rossi as consulting producer.

Lauren Kennedy, who played the role of Zelda in the world premiere production,
included the song "Easy" from the show on her solo album "Here And Now" (2007, PS Classics). The recording
is available from Amazon and
other music retailers.

The world-premiere production of Waiting For The Moon received eight nominations for
the 2006 Barrymore Awards, the annual theater awards for the Philadelphia area. These
include nominations for Outstanding Musical, Director, Leading Actor, Leading Actress, Lighting
Design, Costume Design, Music and Choreography. Ben Dibble, who played the Reporter, received
